Today I’m pleased to say that an academic article I wrote has been published in the important medieval studies journal Speculum. I know what you’re thinking and yes, a speculum is a vital gynecological instrument. It also means “mirror” in Latin and has a whole host of neat associated meanings that make it an excellent name for a journal. The article I published in this journal argues that we perceive poor people as criminals because we criminalize the ways that poor people make money. You can read the whole article here.
